Passing of Mr. Louis Lavergne

The Eeyou Communications Network is sad to report that Mr. Louis Lavergne has passed away on the 25th of December 2021, at the age of 68.

Mr. Lavergne was an important contributor in the initial deployment of the Eeyou Communication Network’s infrastructure, managing the construction of the first phase of deployment, and providing support in several other projects including the Billy Diamond highway fiber optic cable build and the fiber-to-the-home project. Mr. Lavergne will be remembered for his immense commitment to the bettering of telecommunications in underserved areas, including notably underserved aboriginal communities.

The Eeyou Communications Network’s team wishes to thank Mr. Lavergne for his exceptional contribution and also extends its deepest sympathies to his family, friends and colleagues, including his wife Mrs. Linda Rheault, children Louis-Mathieu and Catherine, and grandchildren Victor and Maxence. Your sympathies can be expressed through a donation to the Quebec Cancer Foundation.
